Award-Winning Cinematographer Brian Isom Underwood to Serve as Director of Photography on A. Russell Andrews' "SHOES"

LOS ANGELES, CA - March 1, 2024 - Brian Isom Underwood, renowned for his acclaimed work in unscripted television, including his contributions to esteemed court shows such as "We the People with Gloria Allred" and "Relative Justice," is set to lend his creative prowess as the Director of Photography on the upcoming adaptation of "SHOES." Based on the book by A. Russell Andrews, "SHOES" is a poignant tale based on real events and will be directed by La'Chris Robinson Jordan,
"SHOES" follows the story of Junior, an 11-year-old African American boy from inner-city Houston. Despite facing tragedy, Junior proves himself to be kind, responsible, and resilient. After losing his father in a fire that also left him with burns threatening his ability to walk, Junior finds support and friendship with the Williamson family. Through vivid and adventurous bus rides to "the store," Junior navigates life with hope and optimism, despite being thrust into the role of 'man of the house.'

Production for "SHOES" is slated to begin in 2025.
